As from the 20th July 2012 we became the proud owners of three Shetland ponies: the twenty-year-olds, Sandra and Willy and the ten-year-old Sünje. Sünje would have been slaughtered had we not taken her in. She is really beautiful and very gentle, but is suffering from laminitis. Sandra came to us unexpectedly with summer eczema. Several swollen bite marks could be felt on her croup and she had rubbed off parts of her tail. The roots of her mane were scratched off and small wounds were evident. It was clear from the beginning that the ponies would have to be kept in the stables overnight to avoid Sandra’s condition deteriorating. I was advised by a friend of a colleague, Karen Zetsche to feed the ponies, the Barn Bag from Life Data Labs. One week later we began with this product. After a short introductory phase the ponies received their recommended daily dosage of Barn Bag.

The progress of the two sick “ladies” is unbelievable! The product proved to be very palatable and the ponies love it. The pellets even smell absolutely delicious! – Amazingly after about a week the bites were hardly visible. However, she still continued to rub herself during the daytime, but this soon stopped. It was only necessary to treat the wounds on two occasions with Life Data Hoof Dressing as a disinfectant; thereafter it was no longer essential. Upon the advice of Mrs. Zetsche I also rubbed The Right Step on the non-infected parts of her body to deter the black flies. From the beginningalt of feeding regime and the treatment, Sandra has not suffered from any more bite marks or lesions. There are no more traces of eczema on Sandra despite the fact that the paddocks are sheltered from the wind with numerous shady trees and within the close proximity to a stream and the Kiel Canal; ideal conditions for these insects. Most certainly putting them into the stables before dusk helped to avoid a recurrence of the eczema, but the speedy healing is really incredible. After feeding only two pails of Barn Bag between two-and-a-half ponies, Sandra is fit and healthy again.
